Are you in your late 20’s/early 30’s and suddenly finding yourself at multiple wedding festivities every week and/or month? According to the iPhone weather app, it’s wedding season y’all. The flood of festivities will compromise your liver, waistline and wallet but it will be all SO very worth it. PROMSIES! So put on your wedding galoshes, grab a bottle of Advil and hold on to your party pants — it’s going to be a wild ride.
Weddings will never get old. Watching two people officially commit their lives to one another in front of all their loved ones is just a beautiful thing. [Enter one lonely teardrop] But obviously the best part is the eating, drinking, dancing and random hugs you get from unknown relatives. Hi “Uncle Chiao”!
The most recent wedding I attended was a little near and dear to my heart. One of my best friends has tied the knot in Hawaii with her long time lover. [Hearts] I was so honored to be a part of their special day as a bridesmaid (and personal chalkboard artist.) When the bride asked me to help with signage I responded with a, “Hell yea! You want me to do what now?” I mean, who handwrites anymore? And who writes on chalkboard? I put my fear of carpel tunnel aside and chalked it up to good fun. Ya see what I did there?! [tap-tap] Is this mic on? Oh, nevermind…
Now, I introduce you to a la z’chalkboard art de Taria! (Sorry, my accent slips out sometime.) Congrats to the newlyweds!
